Campfire Story Time
Description
Join us for Week 9 of Discovery Center’s USA 250 Summer Programming as we journey to Alaska and explore life beneath the famous Midnight Sun with Under Alaska’s Midnight Sun by Deb Vanasse.
In this beautifully illustrated story, a young Alaskan girl takes advantage of the endless summer daylight to explore the outdoors, fish in nearby waters, and observe the incredible plants and animals that thrive in Alaska’s unique environment. Along the way, readers will discover what makes Alaska’s summers so special and how people and wildlife adapt to a world where the sun barely sets.
After the story, families can enjoy hands-on activities inspired by Alaska’s breathtaking landscapes, wildlife, and natural wonders. Together, we’ll learn about life in America’s northernmost state and celebrate the diverse environments that make our nation unique.
